The Red Book Club - About

Read, Eat and Drink!

established September, 1997

History

It was the summer of 1997 when it all began at the pool in Waterside Community. Amid the splashes and screams of the neighborhood children Debbie and Katrina would occasionally bump into each other there and discuss important things like books, anti-depressants and children. Summer ended. Fall began. Debbie and Katrina bumped into each other again at a middle school play. Delighted to talk again, Debbie suggested starting a book club of our closest friends. This would provide a year 'round opportunity for them to discuss books, anti-depressants and kids. (Now other women, good food and spirits have enhanced the conversations!) It is now almost 10 years later and our book club is thriving. Celebrating the growth of friendship, exploring many worlds and cultures through both books and food the club has evolved and continues to year by year.
